It’s officially Spring and that means patio season is just around the corner.

Downtown North Bay is now accepting applications from businesses interested in setting up a sidewalk patio this summer.

Executive Director Jeff Serran says they’ve already had some interest.

“We had two last year and we’re looking at adding a third. Obviously not going to say right now which one it is, but we are encouraging them to put forth their application,” he says.

Serran says it’s about drawing people to the downtown.

“It creates a really nice ambience, food is a definitely an economic driver in any community and we have some really amazing restaurants in the downtown core,” he adds.

Sidewalk patios are allowed from the Victoria Day long weekend in May through Thanksgiving weekend in October.
