Positive developments involving a couple of labour disputes.

Talks in the four month old Children’s Aid Society lockout are slated for today (Thursday).

CUPE says this is only the fourth time the two sides have met in bargaining since the lockout began December 23rd.

Meantime, CUPE and the Canadian Hearing Society, which has an office here in North Bay, resumed negotiations yesterday.

They’re being described as productive.

Both sides are now working on scheduling more talks.

The strike began March 6th and involves counsellors, literacy instructors, audiologists and other workers.
