For the 2nd time in 5 days OHL teams will be taking part in a draft.

This one is called the under 18 Priority Selection. It’s a four round draft but two teams do get an extra pick if one of their four is a goalie.

Battalion Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Stan Butler says the team’s philosophy is no different than last week’s regular priority selection.

He says they’ll pick off their list.

Butler says they go number 3 and they’ll pick the best available player.

Meantime, the Battalion will have ten of their recent OHL Priority Selection picks playing in the OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener next month.

The list includes North Bay’s top pick last weekend, Brandon Coe of the Toronto Nationals and locals Payton Vescio, Ryan Mills and Mathew Hardwick.

Four other Trappers were also selected including Cole Craft, who was drafted by Sarnia last weekend, Kobe Seguin, who was drafted by the Sault and Jacob Peterson-Galema.
