A new game of chance run by 6 local service clubs is going to benefit several local organizations.

The Catch The Ace Rffle Ticket Draw comes to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 next week.

The whole idea is to find the hidden ace and the pot keeps increasing until it’s discovered.

Each week, 1/5 of the pot goes to the lucky winner and 30 % of the pot is moved forward to the next week and so until the ace is found.

The rest goes to 7 organizations.

Rotary Club of North Bay spokesperson Bill Hagborg says it’ll be great to work with the other service clubs on this project.

He says service clubs are getting smaller so this is a great common project.

Hagborg says each of the service clubs involved picked one of the organizations to get funds.

The recipients include the Nipissing Serenity Hospice, The North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation, Kiwanis Music Festival, The Gathering Place, the DARE program, the PADDLE program and the Salvation Army.

Cst. Merv Shantz of North Bay Police says some of the funds raised support the DARE program.

He says it is not easy to raise funds to support the programs they run.

He says it’s nice to have new initiatives to raise funds.

The six local service clubs are the Rotary Club of North Bay, the Rotaract Club of North Bay-Nipissing, the North Bay Lions Club, Widdifield Lions Club, Kiwanis Club of Nipissing and the local chapter of the Association of Canadian Travellers.

The first draw is next Friday and tickets are $5 each. For a complete list of rules go to the serviceclubsofnorthbay facebook page.
