A successful Big Bike for Heart and Stroke in North Bay.

40 teams rode the big bike around Downtown North Bay from May 23rd to May 26th and raised 68-thousand dollars locally, in support of the Heart And Stroke Foundation.

“The level of support and the tremendous generosity that comes out of a small city like North Bay continues to amaze me,” says Julia Tignanelli, Heart & Stroke Area Coordinator for North Bay and Nipissing District. “Thank you so much to the many groups that came out to participate this year, not only for their pledges but for their energy and enthusiasm, and for helping us promote the importance of heart health and active living in our community. Donations to Heart and & Stroke mean more medical breakthroughs—like new medications, surgical procedures, rehabilitation and treatment programs, and training and best practices for healthcare professionals. We want to give everyone the best chance of living a long, healthy life, and give families more time with their loved ones.”

Funds raised go towards the placement of AEDS in local communities, the development of public health tools; resources and support programs for survivors and their families; and heart and stroke research.
