The 9th annual “Up the Creek Without a PADDLE” fundraiser goes this afternoon (Friday) on Trout Lake.

Community leaders are stranded in dragon boats and raise funds for the PADDLE Program, which stands for Providing Adults with Developmental Disabilities Lifelong Experiences.

The event goes from 1 pm to 3 pm at Olmsted Beach.

North Bay Fire Fighters and North Bay Toyota are teaming up for a charity car wash this weekend.

Proceeds from Saturday’s event are going to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice and will be matched by Toyota.

“The need for a hospice in the city became apparent after spending 12 days in the hospital with my mom before she passed ” said Dave Mendecino, member of the Corporate Fundraising Committee member.  “We are looking forward to starting construction soon.”

There’s also a barbecue and bounce house.

The event goes from 10 am to 3 pm at North Bay Toyota on McKeown Avenue.
