Canadore College’s Rep21 theatre group is set for their next big production.

Barefoot On The Moon tells the story of filmmakers, based in Sudbury, charged with filming a fake moon landing in 1969.

Joshua Bainbridge is the productions stage manager and the shows playwright. He says he got the inspiration from conspiracy theories at the time.

He says there are some similarities with news today that not everything we read and see is true and the use of the term fake news.

He says he’s exploring the past and he’s giving the audience a way to look at similar issues today.
Performances will be held in the Nipissing University Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday  at 7:30pm, with a matinee on Saturday at 2:00pm.

He says after the local show they will perform in Toronto too.

Instead of paying for tickets, the group is accepting donations towards the Gathering Place to provide a warm place and hot meals to those in need.
