The Executive Director of Downtown North Bay says 7 new businesses have opened their doors downtown and one is a returning businesses.

Jeff Serran says the fact that businesses want to open downtown is a positive sign.

He says it shows confidence in the downtown but the city as a whole too.
The list includes U K Food and Gifts, The Painted Penny, Essence Aromas, Native Education and Training College, Moore Bathtub Refinishing, High Class Glass and Pampered Paws Salon.

The list also includes the return of Treehouse Boutique.

Meantime, Serran says they’re down to the last 5 finalists for their Win This Space competition.

He says the winner to be announced in August will get Free Rent for a year up to $15,000 with a store opening set for October.
