OPP have identified the missing person who was carried away by the current while swimming in the Ottawa River on Saturday.

The missing male has been identified as 40 year old Arthur Lavoie of Mattawa.

Police are still on the scene searching the area which they describe as having a strong current, varying depths and not suitable for swimming.
