Successful Pride events in North Bay

Organizers say they’re very pleased with the pride activities held in North Bay this weekend.

The pride flag was raised Friday afternoon at North Bay City Hall, there was a march from city hall to the waterfront on Saturday followed by a picnic at the waterfront.

Nick George is chair of the North Bay Pride Committee.

He says this isn’t the first pride event they’ve held in North Bay but this time the community got behind all the activities.

He says the radio stations, retailers and condom companies were all behind their efforts.

George says it means a lot that the community is behind their efforts because they know they can feel safe in North Bay.

George says the work now begins to continue the momentum.
