The length of the off season for the North Bay Battalion seems to be a big motivating factor this year.

They’ve played 2 of 3 intrasquad games in their training camp, with the final one Thursday morning at 9 am at Memorial Gardens.

Team Green is 2-0 after a 5-4 win Wednesday thanks to two goals apiece from Adam McMaster and Luke Moncada.

Alex Robert had two goals for Team White.

Assistant coach Adam Dennis says having missed the playoffs last year, the players have come to camp ready to go and put last season behind them.

He says the one benefit was players had more time to prepare for this season and he likes what sees in a lot of players including Adam McMaster, Brad Chenier and Rhys Foran.

Meantime, Dennis says improving the practices is a must this season.

He says the coaching staff will be putting an emphasis on the finer details of the game.

There is no admission fee for this morning’s 9 o’clock intrasquad game.

The Troops then head out on the road and will play three games in Buffalo at the OHL Showcast this weekend.

They play Kitchener Friday, Windsor on Saturday and Flint on Sunday.
