There’s still a few days left to offer comments on a draft Northern Ontario Multimodal Transportation Strategy.

There are dozens of recommendations including one to “reinvigorate passenger rail service where appropriate”.

That section goes on to say, “The draft Strategy recognizes that new and improved passenger rail service could become a reality, where a viable business case and sufficient passenger travel demand exist, and should be fully explored by service providers. Ontario will work with the federal government to review and evaluate rail service business cases, where appropriate.”

Another recommendation involves four-laning or twinning of highways to improve reliability of travel.
