Two drivers have been charged by North Bay OPP for failing to stop for the school school during their “Safe Start” back to school traffic initiative, which wraps up today (Friday).

A transport hauling lumber failed to stop for a school bus just after 8 am on September 7th on Highway 17 East of North Bay, while another vehicle passed a stopped school bus, also on Hwy 17 East, around 330 pm this past Tuesday.

OPP also report a driver was charged with stunt driving, had his license suspended for 7 days and vehicle impound for a week.

This after he was clocked doing 60 km/h over the limit in front of St Gregory School in Powassan yesterday morning around 8:30 am.

Overall, 25 speeding charges were laid since the start of the campaign.
