The Fraser Institute says that severe negative economic effects are more likely when the minimum wage to average wage ratio goes past 45 %.

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says it would reach 51 % in North Bay and Sudbury by 2019.

He says the PC’s supports a $15 minimum wage but he says the government is rushing it through.

The minimum wage in Ontario goes up to $14 in January and then another dollar in 2019.

Fedeli says the PC’S have called for a cost benefit analysis and an economic assessment before the the minimum wage hits $15 an hour.
