Drivers can expect delays this morning (Monday) while a reconfiguration of traffic on the Lakeshore overpass takes place.

It all has to do with the rehabilitation project that has been underway since January.

Work on the northbound lanes is done so traffic will be directed to the outside lanes on the bridge.

Chair of Engineering and Works, Councillor Tanya Vrebosch says that will allow for construction crews to work on the centre median.

“Once the centre median work is complete, then the final lift of asphalt will be done, the guardrail replacement and other clean-up work will continue through October,” she says.

In terms of the entire project, Vrebosch says they’re hoping to be back to seeing two lanes of traffic on both sides of the overpass by the end of October or beginning of November.
