Two more local high schools are venturing out to collect non-perishable food donations for the North Bay Food Bank.

Widdifield’s fall food drive sees students collecting the O’Brien, Bypass, Ski Club Rood and Airport Hill area tonight from 5 pm to 8 pm.

West Ferris students are canvassing the West Ferris area of the city at the same time.

Last week, students at St Joseph-Scollard Hall collected 1,600 pounds of food donations.

Meantime, the Widdifield family of schools are taking part in their annual Terry Fox Walk today.

Widdifield, ET Carmichael and WJ Fricker students are taking part.

Officials say raising money in the fight against cancer is important but so to is creating awareness about the importance of continuing Terry’s Dream.
