October 15th at midnight is when a strike or lockout at Ontario’s Community Colleges, including Canadore, could begin.

That’s the date issued by the conciliator in contract talks, after OPSEU requested a no board report last week.

The union represents 12,000 workers across Ontario.

Both OPSEU and the colleges must give 5 days notice before they can take any action, whether it’s a strike or lockout.

Last week, the union said the request for a no board report was made to trigger “real negotiations” for their members.
