The North Bay Battalion went 1-2 on the weekend on their road trip.

They lost 3-1 yesterday to the Sault with Brett McKenzie scoring for North Bay.

That followed a 6-1 loss in Saginaw on Saturday with Luke Burghardt notching the Troops only marker.

On Friday, North Bay opened the swing with a 5-1 win in Flint. Kyle Potts had 2 goals and singles went to Riley Bruce, Justin Brazeau and Adam McMaster.

The Powassan Voodoos lost their only weekend game by a 7-5 count to the Soo Eagles.

 

(Bears)

St. Joseph-Scollard Hall won the NDA junior football title by a 35-6 count over Widdifield.

Nathan Folk and Riley Lavergne each had 2 touchdowns for the Bears.

(Trojans)

West Ferris won the NOSSA semi on Saturday over Lively 14-0.

The Trojans will host the Sault in the NOSSA final on Saturday.

(Lakers)

A busy weekend of university sports.

The Nipissing Lakers women’s basketball team lost Friday to Laurier 83-40 but rebounded on Saturday with a 74-61 win over Waterloo.

The men lost 84-56 on Friday to Laurier but defeated Waterloo 82-75.

The men’s hockey team fell 4-1 to Carleton on Friday but responded with a 3-2 win over Ottawa on Saturday.

The women were edged 3-2 by Queens on Friday and 3-2 by UOIT on Saturday.

In women’s volleyball, the Lakers lost 3-0 to Queens but edged RMC 3-2.

The men lost 3-0 to Queens but defeated RMC 3-0.
