Powassan OPP have charged a 19 year old with sexual assault on a person under 16 and sexual interference with a person under 16. Police say the charges relate to an incident last month in Trout Creek.

Powassan OPP say they’re looking into two similar break-ins. Police say in late October someone broke into a garage in Chisholm Township and several items were taken including a generator, a crowbar and several gas cans full of gas. As well, in September several gas cans full of gas were taken from a Chisholm Township camp.

Powassan OPP say they were called regarding a domestic dispute early last Saturday morning in Powassan. The 38 year old female and 32 year old male were both charged with assault.

Meantime, a 31 year old East Ferris Township man has been charged with possession of cannabis marijuana and trafficking in methamphetamines.

Police say they stopped a vehicle Saturday afternoon on Highway 17 East for a highway traffic act violation and smelled an odour in the vehicle.

OPP have charged an 18 year old North Bay male with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Police say this follows a collision early Sunday morning on Highway 11.

Police say two motorists were injured and both vehicles were damaged extensively.

And a 58 year old Papineau-Cameron Township man is facing several charges including attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle someone, uttering threats, assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and forcible confinement.

Police say a Mattawa male phoned them on Halloween to tell them his wife and children were missing.
