A strike by faculty members at Ontario’s 24 colleges — including Canadore — has entered its fifth week with a vote on the schools’ latest contract offer set to begin Tuesday.

12-thousand faculty members will be voting online and over the phone through Thursday on an offer OPSEU is urging them to reject.

Meantime, the  colleges have launched a website that they say will allow striking faculty members to see for themselves what’s in their employers’ latest contract offer.

The site is collegevote.ca.

If the offer is accepted, the College Employer Council says 500,000 students affected by the strike — now in its fifth week — could be back in class as early as next Tuesday.

Student leaders say the strike is taking a toll on the students.

Meantime, Plans are in the works for a student demonstration Thursday morning at 11:30 at the College Drive campus.
