The North Bay Film Festival is returning this year.

It will be held at the Capitol Centre from tomorrow until Sunday.

Holly Cunningham is the executive director of the Near North Media Lab which is putting on the event.

She says they have a good mix of Canadian and international films.

One of the top ones is Loving Vincent.

“This film was hand painted by 125 professional oil painters who travelled all across the world to the Loving Vincent Studios in Poland and Greece to be part of this project.”

She says it tells the story of renowned international artist Vincent Van Gogh,
She says the film took 65,000 frames of oil paintings to complete the film.

Other films include “Mark Felt-The Man Who Brought Down The White House starring Liam Neeson.

He portrays Deep Throat the anonymous source in All The President’s Men.

There’s also a documentary called ‘Rumble-The Indians who Rocked The World”

“And that is by Catherine Bainbridge. And examines the role of native americans in contemporary music history and she exposes a critical missing chapter. And she reveals how indigenous musicians influence popular culture.”

Other films include ‘Lucky featuring Harry Dean Stanton in one of his final roles, the classic Psycho and a film by Natalie Lucier about personal connections with orchas. and features David Suzuki.

Weekend passes are $45 but $10 less for students and North Bay Film members.
