A holiday fundraiser has been launched to help Hands The Family Help Network reach their goal involving their Family Matters Campaign.

The capital campaign for family mental health is supporting the new North East Ontario Family Help and Treatment Center being built on Oak Street in North Bay.

“We’ve been 10 years in making this happen and we have a $2-million fundraising goal, of which we are at about $1.5-million now,” said Director of Corporate Services Paul Laperriere.

They have 5,000 ornaments for sale, at $10 each.

“It involves drawings from local artists, kids and youth, who have put a picture of their everyday hero, which we have transposed onto an ornament,” Laperriere says.

Those who purchase an ornament also get a ticket into a draw with $10,000 in cash to be won.

The ornaments are available by the Christmas tree at Northgate Shopping Center, Hands The Family Help Network offices and Life Long Planning Group.
