‘No families without food, no children without toys.’

That has been the focus of the North Bay Santa Fund in the past and it’s no different for this year’s 70th annual drive.

Co-Chair Lachlan McLachlan says they’re getting ready to provide hampers of groceries and toys to hundreds of families.

“We’re quite excited to have a goal of $140,000 for some 700 families that we hope to help this year,” he says.

Applications for families in need are available on the Santa Fund website

“Put your application in at 127 Main Street East, the LIPI office, from 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday and you have until December the 8th to do that,” McLachlan adds.

The packing of the baskets at 5 pm on December 22nd at the Fort Chippewa Barracks on Chippewa Street, with delivery the next morning.

“I’m expecting the usual army of volunteers that we always get,” he says.
