A Newcomer to North Bay from Syria has written a book on physics.

Ibrahim Jabr’s book is called the General Theory of Physics and he says it’s really in two parts.

He explains the basics of physics through famous scientists like Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton.

But the book also looks at the technical side, through algebraic formulas.

Jabr says one of the goals is to get people to see how physics is used every day in a variety of ways and how fun it is.

“We build cars, airplanes, satellites, spaceships and computers all thanks to physics,” he says.

Jabr was also asked about how he’s finding Canadian life since he and his family arrived from Syria.

He says he wasn’t so sure if he could adapt because when they arrived it was minus 34, but he says people have been so warm to him and his family.

“So immediately we felt warm. I feel very good about this community,” he says.
