Training exercise at 22 Wing CFB North Bay

A military training exercise is taking place today and tomorrow at 22 Wing CFB North Bay.

It’s called Exercise Local Dragon.

Officials say the scenario involves dealing with potential threats to the base.

You may notice military members wearing protective gear and carrying weapons.

Check points will also be set up and that could delay traffic in some areas of the base.

Specific areas include three potential locations: Duxford Rd. and Airport Rd., Ayr St. and Carmichael Dr., and at Manston Cres. and Duxford Rd.

Officials say the exercise ensures a ready and able command that is able to take the lead on any defence or security issue threatening 22 Wing.
