Last fall the province detailed it’s roadmap for changes to social programs, now the Northern Ontario Service Deliverers Association has some recommendations.

The province’s roadmap recommends changes to Ontario Works’ fundamental framework.

The Northern association, which includes the District of Nipissing Social Service Administration Board supports that, but they also recommend it be sustainable and fully funded by the province.

They say there should be no increased costs to municipalities that are already contributing based on a limited tax base.

Officials also say they’d like to be consulted to ensure solutions reflect the challenges and factors unique to Northern Ontario residents.
