The North Bay Detachment of the OPP say they had a busy weekend on trails and lakes doing snowmobile patrol.

They say hundreds of sleds were checked and they laid charges under the Motorized Snow Vehicle Act, the Liquor License Act and the Wildlife Conservation act.

Police are reminding any snow vehicle operator that anyone under 16 is not allowed to drive on or across a highway even if they have a license.

Police say a highway can include a street, a driveway or a bridge.

So if your trail is on a community road the motorist under 16 is not allowed to drive on it.
