The North Bay Battalion are falling in the Eastern Conference standings after their third straight loss.

The Troops lost 4-2 to the Ottawa 67’s last night (Thursday) are are now seventh in the standings.

Head coach Stan Butler (pictured) says there were too many wasted opportunities.

“We battled back, got two to tie it up, then gave a powerplay goal up.  We even had chances in the third, we had a couple two on ones where pucks bounced over sticks, but you have to make those plays, you have to finish those plays, that’s the difference in a close hockey game,” he says.

Butler also says they need a consistent 60 minute effort.

“We have to be good from the start of the game to the end, we still have lulls in the game where we aren’t where we should be.  At this stage of the year you need to be there right through the whole game,” he says.

Adam Thilander and Justin Brazeau scored in the loss.

Butler will look for his 700th OHL win tonight, as the Battalion visit Mississauga.

Broadcast time on Country 600 CKAT is 6:55 pm.
