Nipissing has another provincial election candidate.

Kris Rivard is running for the Green Party and becomes the fourth official candidate, joining Vic Fedeli for the PC’s, Bond Keevil for the Libertarian Party and Trevor Holliday for the Northern Ontario Party.

North Bay-born Rivard says he will bring a youthful perspective to the race.

“I’m looking to obtain a well paying job and one day buy a home. That can be difficult in today’s economy for young people. I’m here to be a voice for the youth,” he says.

Green Party provincial leader Mike Schreiner says people want change.

“People are sick and tired of the establishment party that is currently governing the province and they want change. They’ve looked at the other establishment party and they can’t even govern themselves over the last two months. How are they going to trust them to govern the province,” he says.

Schreiner says they put people first and focus on the three pillars of jobs, people and planet.

The NDP hasn’t officially endorsed their candidate, but Henri Giroux is seeking the nomination.
