There’s labour peace for upwards of 75,000 hospital workers across Ontario, including here in North Bay.

The Ontario Council of Hospital Unions says a tentative deal has been reached.

They say it includes new language on workplace violence, a wage increase and no concessions.

The deal comes after what the council calls intense weekend negotiations and after unionized workers held weeks of mobilizing, rallying and visible workplace actions under the banner of ‘Together For Respect’.

Hospital workers, represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), SEIU Healthcare and Unifor, will be voting on the contract over the next few weeks.
