It was a busy week last week for North Bay OPP in investigating collisions between vehicles and wildlife.

The detachment says there were 23 overall, including 22 involving deer.

The other involved a bear.

Police say swerving to avoid an animal can result in a serious crash or drivers losing control.

They suggest you remain in your lane, be prepared to apply the brakes firmly and always scan the road and shoulders ahead of you.

Police say the collisions happened throughout the day, but drivers should be especially wary at dawn and at dusk.
