The conflict of interest legislation will be changing slightly next year.

City Clerk Karen McIssac says right now if a politician has a conflict the conflict they officially declare must be the one read into the record at council meetings and what’s new is that information will be posted on the city’s web site.

“We’ve created on our web site a specific registry for declarations. And you can search by the councillor’s name or the council date to see what conflicts they’ve registered,” she says .

She says although this doesn’t have to take effect until next March it will happen as early as next month in North Bay.
