North Bay OPP say they conducted a school bus focus patrol earlier this month.

OPP say there was an increased police presence around highway bus routes.

Police say 1 motorist received a ticket for failing to stop for a school bus and there were 3 complaints in hot spot areas.

Police say they also issued several speeding tickets at peak school bus times on highway bus routes.

A reminder that vehicles must stop 20 metres behind a school bus that is stopped when its red overhead signal lights have been activated. As well, if you’re approaching a bus from the front in that scenario you must stop before reaching it.

You must not move until either the bus does or the signals have stopped flashing.

A 21 year old Magnetawan man i facing several charges after they received a complaint about an impaired driver early on Saturday morning on Highway 11 in North Bay.

Police say the vehicle involved drove into the ditch and the driver fled on foot.

He was arrested later.

The list of charges includes driving while impaired, drug possession, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition and failing to report an accident.

A 74 year old Renfrew man has been charged with impaired driving. Police say the charge was laid after they received a complaint Saturday night. Police say the vehicle was located on Highway 17 in North Bay.

driving while disqualified)

A 27 year old Mattawa man has been charged after a vehicle was stopped on Highway 17 in North Bay on Friday afternoon.

Police say the charges include driving while disqualified, operating an unsafe vehicle and using a plate not authorized for the vehicle.

Police say the vehicle was stopped because officers a licence plate that had expired in 2010.
