Yesterday was Veteran Family Day.

A chance for the city to highlight the value of the North Bay Military Family Resource Centre and its veteran family program.

Julie Charette’s brother has PTSD and she says the centre has made a big difference in their lives with their support programs.

“There was a retreat planned for the veteran members and their families. It took some coaxing on my part to get my brother out there. I believe in the program and he eventually broke down and said yes and he hasn’t regretted it,” she says.
Laura Twigg is with Twiggs Coffee Roasters.

She says two of their franchisees are military family members and they know first hand the difference the MFRC is making for families.

“This program benefits people. Everybody that works for the resource centre has the veterans and their families best interests at heart. Supporting that makes it all worth it and we want to be part of that,” Twigg says.
Twiggs with locations in North Bay, Sturgeon Falls and Sudbury is offering discounts to military families.

The MFRC helps military family members access services for families who are transitioning to a new community while their loved ones are serving.
