North Bay Police received a complaint regarding a fraud committed on their bank account.

Police say the caller received an email indicating that their banking password had changed.

The bank was contacted and the account was frozen.

It turns out several transactions were made on the account including fraudulent cheques being deposited and many withdrawls of cash.

Upon investigation, the complaint had received a phishing e mail that appeared to be from Netflix and the banking information had to be re-entered.

Police say it was and the fraudster received the information.

Police point out Netflix would never ask for personal information in an e mail. In the end, the fraudsters were not identified and the caller did not suffer a financial loss.
