Another signing for the Powassan Voodoos.
Forward Gabby Kioki from the Timmins Majors is joining the team.
He had 12 goals and 11 assists in 36 games with the Majors and was selected in the third round of the U18 OHL Priority Selection by the North Bay Battalion.
“I am pretty thrilled to be able to play for the Powassan Voodoos, I watched them in my hometown of Timmins the past couple years and I am excited to play for them,” said Kioki.
“I am a physical player that can be effective at both ends of the ice and I like to create offence.”
Voodoos head coach Max Gavin got a chance to see Kioki play at a summer prospects tournament in Toronto in June.
“We are thrilled to have Gabby on board with us,” Gavin says. “He is another great power forward that we will have, the type of guy that can play all situations and contribute everywhere on the ice. Once again a big welcome to Gabby and his family to ours.”
Kioki will be in Powassan later this month (July 27-28) for the Voodoos last summer prospects camp before main camp in late August.
