Heat Warning in effect for North Bay, Powassan, Mattawa, West Nipissing and French River.

High temperatures and humidity expected this weekend.

A hot and humid air mass is forecast to move into the area Saturday and remain in place through at least Sunday night.

Afternoon high temperatures are expected to rise to near 30 degrees with humidex values rising to the mid 30s.

Overnight lows will remain in the upper teens both Saturday and Sunday night providing little relief from the heat.

A cold front is forecast to usher in cooler temperatures and lower humidity to the North Bay area by Monday evening.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
