Four new board members are being welcomed at the Capitol Centre as they prepare for the 2018-19 season.

Officials say Helen Gobby, Amber McCarthy, Laurie Moore, and Giovanna Parnell bring a variety of skillsets and expertise and will compliment their existing board team.

A new executive was also recently elected.

Robert Palangio is President.

“What we now know as The Capitol Centre (1997) has been managed and directed by so many fine and committed individuals. Because of that, I was deeply honoured to recently accept the appointment as President of the Board of Directors,” said Palangio in a release. “Being a lifetime resident of North Bay, “The Capitol” has always had a special place in my family life. My father, Tom was one of the first six ushers hired when the Capitol Theatre opened in June 1929 and as a young boy, I went to many a Saturday movie. Throughout the years, North Bay has seen a lot of changes in The Capitol, especially with its conversion to a performing arts facility and the Kennedy Art Gallery in 1985. All of us are proud to be a part of this legacy and it gives me great pleasure to introduce the Capitol Centre’s Board of Directors for 2018-2019.”
