The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says there are 45 active forest fires as of last night in the Northeast.

17 of them are not under control.

The three priority fires are the River Valley Cluster, the Lady Evelyn Provincial Park area and Parry Sound 33.

The ministry says there are 5 fires in the North Bay district that are being watched closely and are not out.

The ministry says 154 personnel are working on fires in the River Valley area and they’re from across the country and Mexico too.

The Lady Evelyn Provincial Park fire is 27,000 hectares in size but progress is being made.

The Parry Sound 33 fire i s 6,700 hectares in size and is not under control.

The ministry says restrictions remain in place.
