The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says there are 39 active forest in the northeast as of Friday afternoon and 1 of those in not under control.

The ministry is down to 1 incident management team in the district and that’s the Parry Sound 33 fire which is being held at over 11,000 hectares.

North Bay 72 is under control at over 27,000 hectares.

160 firefighters and support staff are currently in Ontario supporting provincial efforts.

A restricted fire zone remains in place in North Bay, Mattawa north of the Mattawa River, Powassan and Burks Falls.
