Most of the forest fires in the Northeast Region, 33 out of 37 according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, are under control.

As of Monday afternoon, two new ones in the Soo and two in Hearst are not under control.

The release says the province is receiving support in personnel and equipment from across Canada and Mexico, with 104 firefighters and support staff helping out.

Several areas, including North Bay, Powassan and Burk’s Falls, remain under a restricted fire zone.
