A long time volunteer at the North Bay Regional Health Centre is calling it quits.

Lorne Cutts has decided to retire after volunteering at the hospital for more than 2 decades.

Officials say he has logged 14,574 volunteer hours.

They point out a volunteer would have to average a shift a week over 7 decades to reach the same number as Cutts in 20 years.

In 2013, Cutts was recognized with a provincial and national salute to senior service award by the Home Instead Senior Care Network.
