Successful fundraiser for Cancer Care Close to Home campaign

A successful Osprey Links Charity Golf Gala on Wednesday.

The event raised $55,000 for the Cancer Care Close to Home campaign.

Officials say this past year the campaign ensured the first of two CT scanners was funded.

It arrived and began serving the community in late spring.

They say a second scanner will reduce wait times and introduce new screening programs for patients at risk for certain kinds of cancer.

Over the past six years the tournament has contributed more than $200,000 toward our community’s greatest medical needs at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
