School is back today (Tuesday) and so too are school buses.

That’s prompting a reminder message from the Let’s Remember Adam campaign.

Pierre Ranger’s brother Adam was killed 18 years ago when a truck failed to stop for his school bus.

“Let’s remember Adam, stop for those school buses. I don’t want anybody to ever have to go through what our family went through and continues to go through,” he says. “It’s important to pay attention and stop.”

Ranger says he’s in contact with area police and sadly last year was a ‘normal’ year where people still didn’t get the message.

“There was still lots and lots of cases of people running the lights and a few close calls, just unnecessary stuff that we don’t need,” he says.

Last week, city police were also reminding drivers about Community Safety Zones, which include reduced speed limits around school zones.
