After 48 meetings a report on the work of the operational review committee at city hall has been submitted to council.

Chair Councillor George Maroosis says the main recommendation is to get the city up to speed on technology.

“Do you have the computer you used in 1995? Does your organization have a computer that has software from 1995? We have,” he says.

He says it’s not exciting to campaign on spending money to update computers and revamping software but it’s necessary today.

The committee is also calling for an organization wide external service review and to look at reshaping the committees of council.

“Who is bringing stuff up all the time? It’s Community Services. It’s absolutely time to look at it. The committee agreed and that includes the chair of Community Services,” he says.
