The North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit says a harmful algae bloom has been found in Lake Talon near Bonfield.

The toxins in blue-green algae or pond scum can irritate the skin and if swallowed can cause diarrhea and vomiting.

Residents are advised not to use the water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and brushing teeth.

The health unit says don’t swim or take part in water sports in and around harmful algae.
