The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo is coming to the Verner/West Nipissing area next year and volunteers are needed to put on the event.

Lead Coordinator Catherine Levac-Lafond says there’ll be an open house Thursday from 6-9 pm at the Sturgeon Falls Recreation Complex.

“Having great success in getting the committee chairs. But we’re really trying to fill 50 committees now,” Levac-Lafond says.

She says there will be information available for the sponsor and exhibitor process at the open house.

We’re going to have different kiosks and booths at the event. So if you want to be involved in the education or beautification committee for example you can check that out,” she says.

She says the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo is being held in the Verner/West Nipissing area but it also be showcasing all of the north.

80,000 visitors are expected for the event next September.
