Concerned citizens locally are calling on governments to move forward with green initiatives.
A rally was held outside MPP Vic Fedeli’s office on Saturday.
Officials say the scrapping of a variety of green provincial programs was the focus.
BayToday was at the rally as mother and concerned citizen Jennifer Plummer told the crowd that fossil fuels will still be used in the future in some capacity, but action needs to be taken.
“We need to move now, not in 10 years, no more studies, let’s just move forward on this. Can I hear a big ‘lead us to green’? We need a political hero,” she said as the crowd then chanted, “Lead us to green!”
Shawn Moreton also urged the crowd to keep the conversation going and fight for the future they envision.
“We want to shake them and scream at them and say ‘wake up!’ before it’s too late,” he told BayToday.
