A winning weekend for the North Bay Battalion against Niagara.

The Troops won 4-3 in overtime on Friday in St Catharines, then defeated the IceDogs 4-3 at Memorial Gardens on Saturday.

Adam McMaster (pictured) provided the overtime heroics on Friday with the game winning goal.

On Saturday, Brad Chenier’s second period goal stood up as the game winner.

North Bay has 21 points, two ahead of Barrie for fourth in the Central Division.

The Battalion will face off against the Colts in Barrie on Thursday.

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos are going after a seventh straight win tonight.

They’re home to Cochrane at 7 pm at the Powassan Sportsplex.

 

In OUA women’s hockey, the Nipissing Lakers won both of their games on the weekend.

They scored a 3-2 shootout win over York then won 2-1 in overtime over Guelph.

The Nipissing men, meantime, lost a couple of close games on the weekend, 4-3 to Ottawa and 2-1 to Carleton.

Meantime, it was a weekend split for Nipissing in OUA men’s basketball.

The Lakers won 80-71 over McMaster and lost 79-51 to Brock.

The Nipissing women lost both of the games on the weekend.

In OUA women’s volleyball, the Lakers won 3-0 over Lakehead.

 

Canadore won twice on the weekend in OCAA women’s volleyball and is now 6-0 on the season.

The Panthers defeated George Brown 3-0, then Centennial 3-2.

The Canadore men won 3-1 over George Brown but lost 3-2 to Centennial.

In men’s basketball, the Panthers lost to Seneca 90-73 then won 71-64 over Centennial.

 

The West Ferris Trojans senior football team saw their season come to an end on the weekend. They lost the NOSSA final 34-11 to the Korah Colts.
