After a 1-0 loss in Barrie last night, the North Bay Battalion are back in action tonight at home to Sudbury.

It’s Ottawa Senators Chris Neil night with the former North Bay Centennials forward and 16-year NHLer being honoured at the game.

Manager of Marketing and Business Development John McLellan encourages the fans to arrive early.

“At 5:30 there’ll be an autograph session in the lobby. Fans will get the chance to get up close and personal with a former North Bay Centennial and more importantly a former NHL player,” he says.

He says Neil was a leader on the ice and off the ice when he played for the Cents and he continued last that during his career in Ottawa.

Neil is now a team alumni ambassador for the Senators doing outreach.

Over three seasons he scored 65 goals for the Cents and added 91 assists.

Neil will also speak to the Battalion before the game, which starts at 7 pm.

The broadcast on Country 600 CKAT begins at 6:55 pm.

Christian Propp made 34 of 35 saves in Thursday night’s loss in Barrie.

The Colts now lead the 8th place Battalion by two points in the Eastern Conference standings.

North Bay and Hamilton both have 21 points, but the Troops have played one less game than the Bulldogs.
